ABOUT US

We are Niels and Max. Two Dutch “Health Technology/Human movement technology” from The Hague university of applied sciences.

In our third year of our education, we started this project after a seminar “The protheses from the future”. In this seminar we saw a prothesis controlled by muscle activity. The lecturer could do things like playing guitar and picking up tiny things.

Only the downside of these kind of protheses is the cost, a hand like this is around 50.000,- euro.

Inspired by the emerging 3D printing world and cheap electronics, like Arduino. We started our adventure to design and make an affordable EMG controlled hand.

Max is the CAD drawer, he designed the looks and workings of the hand in Solidworks. Max is the handyman, he made his own 3d printer back in 2016 and recently refitted his own sailboat.

Niels is the programmer, he makes Arduino looks easy by bending his ideas to code. He also is a lasercutting and 3d scanning fanatic. For his internship he scanned numerus hands and made writs braces for patients.
