The thumb is basically a smaller version of the fingers. Anatomically, it lacks a bone. But it can oppose the thumb. We added this function in our model by placing the assembly in a cylinder with teeth. This cylinder is locked in place by a spring.

However, the user can push this cylinder back to reposition the thumb in another angle. This way you get a more controllable and universal grip pattern
